Garo Daghdevirenian’s first visit to Armenia was in 1966 when he and his band were invited to perform at the Aram Khachaturian Concert Hall. He was born and raised in Aleppo, Syria, lived in Australia for around 20 years and now lives in Armenia with his family. He regularly visited Armenia since the ‘90s and was also involved in the restaurant business. He arrived in December 2012 and has continued to find success in his singing career. Forty-eight years after his first performance at the Aram Khachaturian Hall, he performed with Vazken Assadourian’s 70’s Band and also sings at popular clubs. Garo considers his move to Armenia as a moment of rescue for his family, and he hopes that Armenian hospitality will remain strong in today’s modern world. He dreams about a bright future for our homeland.
